A French link snaffle is a type of mouthpiece featuring a double-jointed design, with an oval shaped centre piece that lies across the horse’s tongue.

The French link mouthpiece distributes pressure more evenly across the horse’s tongue. The centre link allows for independent movement of each side of the bit, facilitating clearer and more nuanced communication between horse and rider. By lying flat on the tongue, the French link reduces pressure points and encourages the horse to be more responsive and comfortable, aiding in the development of a soft and supple mouth.
