# Leather Curb Strap

The **Leather Curb Strap** is an essential piece of tack used with curb or leverage bits, providing additional control and helping to distribute pressure evenly across the horse’s chin. Made from durable leather, this leather curb strap works in tandem with the bit to moderate the bits action. When the rider applies pressure to the reins, the curb strap prevents the bit from rotating too far, ensuring that pressure is applied not only to the mouth but also to the horses chin. This action helps prevent excessive force on the horses mouth and increase overall control for the rider.

The strap can be adjusted to suit the level of leverage needed, making it a versatile tool for both training and competitive riding.

A great tool to use when introducing a horse to curb pressure for the first time, allowing a widespread surface area without the increase pressure the wide curb chain offers. 

We highly recommend switching between a leather curb strap and a wide curb chain to alter the pressure points being applied to your horse.
