At the Grass Roots

We are passionate about promoting grass roots polo in the UK and supporting the development of British players who may one day represent the international team.

The Ainsley Saddlery Youth Bursary Programme is designed to provide financial support and exclusive benefits to promising young polo players dedicated to improving their game.

We understand the financial constraints that come with succeeding in polo. As a recipient, our bursary will enable you to direct your financial resources your horses, we'll look after the rest.

You will receive a generous package of Ainsley saddles & equipment worth more than $22,000USD - tailored to enhance performance on the field.

As a recipient of the Ainsley Saddlery Youth Bursary, you’ll have the chance to base yourself with us in New Zealand for a season, providing a unique opportunity to develop your understanding of horsemanship in a world-class setting. With our ongoing support and mentorship, the sky’s the limit for your polo career.

To ensure fairness and inclusivity, applicants are carefully selected based on the following criteria:

- Achievement of 5 goals by their 21st Birthday
- Have a handicap of 4 goals or below on 1st January 2024
- Residency in the UK
- Active participation in grass roots polo within the UK
- Attendance at a UK school
- Showcase a commitment to the sport within the UK
- Ownership of horses within the UK is preferred but not mandatory
- Dual Nationality or British Citizenship may be considered on a case-by-case basis
