The Series 1 features 2 types of foam panels: a choice between Slimline or Super-Slim.
Slimline Panels are ideal for most horses with good top lines and muscular backs. Fitting the flat withered round-shouldered polo pony to the narrow high withered thoroughbred.
Super-Slim Panels are designed for the rounder shape Polo ponies or those that have very wide flat withers (mutton withered). They are also popular for the asymmetrical shouldered ponies.
Made with horse comfort at the forefront, the MVP is meticulously handcrafted from carefully selected hides. Featuring full-grain rough-out leather for grip, it is durable yet supple and significantly outlasts traditional suede. The MVP has been designed as the perfect playing companion for both professional and amateur players.

Our rough-out leather, at an impressive 4.5-5mm thickness, combines softness with durability, offering a beautiful finish of exceptional quality. This "inside out" design provides remarkable grip and stability for the rider, while maintaining comfort and durability. Unlike traditional suede saddles, which use a thin veneer that wears smooth and eventually tears, our rough-out leather ensures long-lasting grip and superior performance, making it a significantly more durable and reliable choice.

We understand a saddle is a big investment – we want to get it right as much as you do. In fact, we can give advice on all of our gear, including specialised bits to target resistance and behavioural problems. Get in touch and include some detail of what you are looking for.
Should I choose wool or foam panels?
The question of wool vs foam is a widely debated topic. At Ainsley Saddlery, we most often recommend wool flocked panels, largely because of the almost infinite fitting options and customisability. However, foam certainly has its place in the market, eliminating the need for ongoing panel maintenance; great if there are no saddle fitters in your region (although, we do have saddle fitters available for virtual fittings). Rest assured, our foam panels are exceptional quality and developed with saddle fitting top of mind. If you’re unsure of what you need, please get in touch before purchasing to confirm what would best suit your horse.
Is the MVP my best choice if I have a string of horses with different needs?
While in a perfect world each horse would have a dedicated saddle fit specifically to them, we understand that is not practical with a string of polo ponies – which is why our saddle fitters can look at each horse in your string and work out which panel, gullet plate and girth point combinations will work best for the average/s of your string. Of course, there may be 1 or more outliers which will inevitably require their own saddles – we will do our best to work with you and your unique situation.
How long will delivery take?
